Ichigo: Old Man... Zangetsu
Oetsu: Go-Ichi
Oetsu: You know that man, right?
Ichigo: Of course I do it's Zangets-
Oetsu: No!
Oetsu: Look, closer
Oetsu: You've seen that man up close with your own eyes quite recently in fact
Oetsu: Surely you recognise him, as the enemy who destroyed the soul society!
Ichigo: Gasp
Oetsu: THAT MAN IS NOT THE MANIFESTATION OF YOUR SOUL REAPER POWERS, NO!
Oetsu: He is your quincy powers taking the form of Yhwach from a thousand years ago
Ichigo: I've been trying to avoid thinking about it
Ichigo: That day...
Ichigo: Back when I first confronted him
Ichigo: I've felt as though I'd been drawn there
Ichigo: All this time...
Ichigo: I've been trying not to let myself ask why
Ichigo: And why I was able to go straight to him without knowing anything...
Ichigo: Or why I thought he was the most important enemy
Ichigo: And finally...
Ichigo: Why the first time I saw him
Ichigo: He reminded me of someone I know!
Ichigo: ZANGETSU!
Ichigo: What the hell's going on here, Zangetsu
Old Man Zangetsu: It's as you just heard
Old Man Zangetsu: I am sorry Ichigo
Old Man Zangetsu: I am not Zangetsu
Ichigo: Gasp
Ichigo: Grunt
Ichigo: EUGH
Ichigo: So, if you truly are Yhwach
Ichigo: Are you telling me that
Ichigo: That you're really not Zangetsu?!
Old Man Zangetsu: What I am, is the source of the quincy power that lies within you
Old Man Zangetsu: I am Yhwach, and yet I am not
Ichigo: I don't get it!
Ichigo: Are you my enemy or my ally?!
Ichigo: Was everything that you said to me just a lie?!
Ichigo: ANSWER ME!
Old Man Zangetsu: I am not an enemy, nor am I an ally
Old Man Zangetsu: But my words held no lies, except for the name that I told you
Old Man Zangetsu: Ichigo, I know you've seen it
Old Man Zangetsu: Think back, whenever I taught you how to use your zanpakuto I always had help from the hollow
Old Man Zangetsu: Whenever a time came where you couldn't handle your zanpakuto's power, whenever you were truly in danger of losing your life
Old Man Zangetsu: The one that always ended up saving you
Old Man Zangetsu: Was not me, it was the hollow
Old Man Zangetsu: I never wanted you to become a soul reaper, Ichigo
Old Man Zangetsu: That's why I suppressed your true power, which had not fully matured, I took control of it and became the center of your power instead
Ichigo: But why...
Old Man Zangetsu: Why, you ask? The answer is simple, I wish to keep you from danger and conflict
Old Man Zangetsu: What else would I be after?
Old Man Zangetsu: If you became a soul reaper, you'd be dragged into battle whether you wanted to be or not
Old Man Zangetsu: You'd get hurt, you'd suffer
Old Man Zangetsu: And eventually, even if I didn't want to, I'd have to kill you with my own hands...
Ichigo: Gasp
Ichigo: Gasp... Hmph
Old Man Zangetsu: I couldn't let you become a soul reaper because if you did so, I'd have to kill you
Old Man Zangetsu: I knew that's what would happen, however, you chose the path of a soul reaper anyway
Old Man Zangetsu: You seized your chance... honed your strength, suffered through pain and sorrow and yet kept travelling down that path of your own free will
Old Man Zangetsu: As I watched you, I could almost feel my heart beginning to waver...
Old Man Zangetsu: Eventually, I decided that I no longer try to keep you away from the soul reapers
Old Man Zangetsu: ...
Old Man Zangetsu: My heart turned towards supporting your decision...
Old Man Zangetsu: And now... as I stand here before you
Old Man Zangetsu: I feel a great sense of joy at the thought of stepping away from you...
Old Man Zangetsu: Ichigo, you've become strong
Old Man Zangetsu: I've been able to stand right there beside you, watching you grow
Old Man Zangetsu: Now I'm happy to leave knowing you can stand on your own
Ichigo: Gasp
Old Man Zangetsu: I am satisfied
Ichigo: No, wait Zangetsu! I STILL NEED YOU!!!
Old Man Zangetsu: Ichigo, what you've been using so far is merely a fragment of your total power
Old Man Zangetsu: It's only the part I couldn't suppress, but now no-one can stop you from fighting with your own full power
Old Man Zangetsu: Go on... take it, that is your true zanpakuto, that is Zangetsu!
Ichigo: That's right, there were no lies not in his words, or yours
Ichigo: You used a quincy's shadow, in order to help me
Ichigo: You used a quincy's blood, in order to stop mine
Ichigo: And you lent me the power of a quincy to help me win when I was weak...
Ichigo: Zangetsu, I don't care who you really are
Ichigo: You might try to deny this but... you, and him are both Zangetsu to me
Ichigo: Let's just agree to that, alright? Zangetsu
Zanpakuto Girl 1: What the?! Hey what are you doing?! Your hands ar-
Oetsu: It's all good
Oetsu: Isn't that right Go-Ichi? Funny I was just thinking the same thing
Oetsu: I had a nagging suspicion that until you poured your soul into it, it'd remain incomplete. Ha!
Oetsu: Go on, show us what you got Go-Ichi
Ichigo: HRRRRRR
Oetsu: THAT IS YOUR ZANPAKUTO!
Zanpakuto Girl 1: The sea
Zanpakuto Girl 2: It evaporated?
Oetsu: What do you say Go Ichi?
Oetsu: You think you'll be okay with 'em?
Oetsu: Those two Zangetsu you have now
Zanpakuto Girl 3: Two zanpakutos?
Zanpakuto Girl 5: *Unintelligible*
Zanpakuto Girl 4: Right away?
Zanpakuto Girl 2: That's incredible!
Oetsu: Yeah, after all they were both real
Ichigo: Zangetsu, I won't ask you to lend me your strength anymore
Ichigo: I won't tell you to stay out of my way either...
Ichigo: And I won't ask you guys to fight alongside me
Ichigo: From here on out, I'll fight on my own
Ichigo: Thank you Zangetsu, you are, me
